Portraits

Hey, here's some portrait fun from the last week. With these I've been trying to train myself to keep images loose with few details (which was more difficult than I thought). Hopefully I've managed to pull it off.

Feedback encouraged!

The Cain Mutie

Here's an image for the IFX weekly challenge. This took around 3 days to finish. This image was the joint winner of this challenge.

Captain Cornelius Cain is also known to seafarers as the dreaded Headbeard (and if you have seen him you'll know why). Feared throughout the seven seas, this mutant pirate and his freakish crew steal from the rich, the poor, and kill anything that moves. History books recall his demise at the hands of his mutie crew of scum (in the case of one member literally) in what is forever known as The Cain Mutie Mutiny.

Sufletul mâncător (Soul Eater)

This image was done for the C.O.W challenge over at CA.

Sufletul mâncător, banished for hell to die here on Earth was discovered by a Romanian traveller, Boian. Boian devoted himself to the beast and began do it's bidding. The Sufletul mâncător survives by feeding on flesh and soul. Once strong enough, he will go back to Hell to overthrow Satan, earning his entry back into the underworld.

In a land far, far away

Unfortunately this challenge hasn't been my strongest because it's really out of my comfort zone. In the end I have done the best I can with the time I've spent on it. I'll just have to learn from this and better myself.

I decided to design a Wanted poster that has been put up throughout this far away land. It features 2 unfortunate individuals by the names of Stan Rolo & Chad Baker and their miracle machine!

Papercut

Hey all. I have decided to try do a project that I never got around to doing while at Uni. The basic idea is to try design imagery based on Lyrics, this image was based on Linkin Park's - Papercut. These are the lyrics I worked from.

"It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin"

The end result is OK obvious, but I feel it illustrates what is said in the song. I'm sure the more of these I do the better the concept will become. I'm hoping with this mini project I can force myself to think more outside the box and be more spontaneous with my work.

Hope you like. Feedback Welcomed, cheers.

C.O.W. 210 - Sound Round

The challenge this week was to design a creature that is emmitting the strange sound in this video. This is what I came out with.

Kweikseer

The Kweikseer was once a great guardian of the Indian burial grounds. When the Western world came, a heroic warrior slay the beast and took it's eyes as a trophy of the kill. Now ressurrected by an old witch doctor, it strives endlessly to bring the western world to its knees and find it's killer.

Shinigami

Here's my latest image. It is based on the Shinigami (God of Death) from the Manga series "Death Note". These creatures write names of people in there Death Note in order to kill them to extend there own existence.

Here's an example of the Shinigami from "Death Note": http://shiverstuff.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/shinigami-ryuk.png

And here's my interpretation of a Shinigami.
Feedback more than welcomed.

Greed

I'm happy to say that, I have now finished my entry for the IFX Monthly Challenge.

The Greed within this man is so strong, the Sin itself is coming to life in it's animal form.

Feedback welcomed. Cheers

The Deadly Sin - Greed WIPs

Hey Jon, thanks for stopping by mate. How you doing? I think I can do better than 3 days, this image has taken 3 weeks on and off. You think you could help me out with anything that seems off? Just some feedback would be great mate, if you have the time.

Here is my current IFX Monthly Challenge and at the moment I'm stuck with the clothing/face and only have a week to go :o/ The idea is, the stronger the Sin becomes within the person, the more it comes to life in it's animal form.
Latest WIP

Cheers.

The Shape of Things to Come

The Apple I-Seat Max, not only feeds you quicky food and gets rid of your waste, but the chip in your brain allows you to watch whatever, whenever. The human race (mainly male) are locked away in warehouses so they can be used as a resource, like excrement as fertiliser, in hopes we can re-build the planet we've destroyed (or so they say). The main benefit of this to the new world government is that which the human races continues to seek, complete control.

Critique encouraged.
